Health Protocols

Hepatitis C

Diet

Acute Phase:
  1. Replace fluids with vegetable broths, herbal teas, water and diluted vegetable juices.
  2. Limit solid foods to brown rice, steamed vegetables and only moderate amounts of lean protein such as chicken and fish.
Chronic Phase:
  1. Cut out any artificial colorings, flavors, sweeteners and preservatives that may stress the liver.
  2. Limit refined carbohydrates
  3. Limit oxidized fats and oils such as those found in fried foods
  4. Focus on eating plant foods, fruits and vegetables,  50-80% of the time
  5. Eat only moderate amounts of lean meats

Lifestyle

  1. Focus on clean living. The body must put up with constant assault by the hepatitis C virus, do whatever you can to control other stresses to the liver like chemical exposure
  2. Exercise regularly to prevent fatty buildup in the liver that can clog detox pathways.

Supplements

  1. Milk Thistle 175 mg 2 caps Twice Daily.
  2. N-Acetyl-Cysteine 500 mg - 1-2 capsules twice daily - NAC works synergistically with milk thistle to stimulate liver repair.
  3. R-Alpha Lipoic Acid - 100 mg twice daily
  4. Liver Extract - 2 Capsules before each meal
